Li Meiyi has studied under the tutelage of various esteemed teachers such as Mr. Ng Kin Wee, Ms. Mina Iguchi and Ms. Elena Kanevskaia, particularly in the Russian ballet technique. In 2009, she was selected through an audition to be a full-time student at the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, in their traineeship program, and obtained a certificate of "Ballet Artist". She also had performing experiences in schools and theatres, including the Singapore Dance Theatre and the ArtScience Museum. Since her return back to Singapore, Meiyi has been teaching and her ballet classes emphasize the purity of Russian classical ballet technique, and the refinement of dance expression.
